Dynapage has undergone many updates and changes since the previous
version, both visually, and performance-wise.
Firstly, the main change is the migration to the standard
development environment, with easy to use features such as properties windows,
drag and drop controls, data-source wizards (including the Advanced Query
Builder), and many more!!
Here are some of the other changes:
-
Field conditions on input and button controls
allows you to set properties of controls at run-time, depending on validation
parameters passed to it (eg. if item price is less than 50, then hide SAVE
button)
-
Field visible property
you can set a control to be hidden, which may be used to pass data from one
page to another.
-
Variable screen widths
each page can be set to have a different width, or they can all use the same
page width.
-
Dual authentication modes
It is possible to create a project that runs on WindowsNT authentication,
that can check against a list of users in a database, or you can set an
application to Anonymous Users, for everyone to use.
-
Dynamic creation of session variables. Dynapage
automatically creates and drops session variables as needed, to pass
information to and from pages. This is so easy to setup, that all you need to
do is to select the most frequently used fields in the Project Properties
windows, and Dynapage does the rest..!!
-
Changeable start-up page
In the Project Properties, you can set any page that has been created in your
project, to be the application start-up page, just by selecting the page you
want, from the drop-down list available.
-
Advanced Query Builder - an easy to use visual drag-and-drop
query builder has been integrated in the development environment, so you can
create complex SQL statements using multiple tables, for the data-source
properties of pages and controls.
There are also many other smaller changes throughout Dynapage,
mostly additional functionality, and simplifying the user interface to make web
development with Dynapage, a fun and easy thing to do.
